We seek to hire an in-house legal counsel able to grow with our company as we scale out globally. Job Overview: We are seeking a talented and motivated Legal Associate to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to support a high-growth AI company with a strong international presence and blue-chip clients. The ideal candidate will have: • 3-5 years of experience in an international law firm or in an equivalent role • Experience working for or advising startups is valued • Excellent commercial contracting skills and strong commercial acumen. • Fluency in English (required), paired with native-level proficiency in at least one Asian language (e.g., Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, etc.) or Arabic. • A good working knowledge of Hong Kong companies law is essential. • Familiarity with US and Cayman corporate law is also desirable. • The role will be based out of our Hong Kong office and work closely with the CEO, Board and CRO Key Responsibilities: • Provide legal support for Bilby’s operations across the Middle East, ASEAN, Hong Kong, and the Americas, with a focus on contracts, compliance, governance, and IP protection. • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including licensing deals, vendor contracts, NDAs, and partnership agreements. • Advise on regional regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with local laws in diverse jurisdictions. • Collaborate with internal teams to safeguard and manage Bilby’s IP portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and trade secrets. • Liaise with external counsel, company secretary, auditors, shareholders and other stakeholders in multiple regions as needed. • Report to the board on any legal risk, reporting or regulatory obligations.
