Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records. The division prepares financial and regulatory reports and maintains relationships with industry and firm regulators, serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team. Internship Programs This intensive 10-week program includes a Firmwide orientation to Morgan Stanley’s businesses and division specific training. Your training will continue throughout the summer with structured learning sessions run by senior executives. Similarly, you will have many opportunities to integrate with peers and senior colleagues through a series of networking, social, charity and mentoring events. Role and Responsibilities Summer Analysts will be placed into one of the following teams based on a mutual fit, taking into consideration your interest and skill set, business needs and management decision. Global Corporate Controllers & Planning (GCCP) is responsible for the financial and regulatory reporting of the consolidated Firm and its legal entities, accounting & regulatory policy and advisory, and managing the Finance risk and change programs. Institutional Securities Group Finance (ISGF) ensures accuracy of the business units’ books and records, provides management reporting and analytics to the business units’ management teams, including budgeting, forecasting and profitability. Corporate Treasury provides corporate finance advisory services to senior management and internal business units. It also optimizes the Firm's liquidity and capital base, manages the Firm's foreign exchange and interest rate exposure, and coordinates relationships with regulators, rating agencies, and creditors.
