Recovery and Collections Legal Specialist

About the job We’re looking for a Recovery and Collections Legal Specialist to join our Operations team in the UAE. You’ll take charge of recovery efforts when accounts move beyond early arrears and require formal legal escalation. The ideal candidate is process-driven, detail-oriented, and confident working within the UAE legal system to manage filings, negotiate settlements, and follow through on court proceedings. This is a hands-on role that sits at the intersection of legal ops and collections strategy. You’ll collaborate closely with legal advisors, our internal risk team, and external authorities to ensure we recover debts ethically, efficiently, and in line with UAE law. While being a licensed lawyer is not required, we are specifically looking for someone who has hands-on legal experience in filing and managing recovery cases in the UAE. As a Recovery and Collections Legal Specialist, you will: • Lead the legal escalation of delinquent accounts, including preparing and filing cases with UAE courts • Draft and manage legal notices, court submissions, and documentation in both English and (ideally) Arabic • Track ongoing litigation and recovery cases, ensuring timely and effective follow-ups with courts, lawyers, and enforcement officers • Represent Nomod in court proceedings where appropriate, or support our legal counsel in doing so • Liaise with legal authorities, law enforcement, and external legal counsel as needed to move recovery actions forward • Negotiate settlements directly with debtors and their representatives, working to secure repayment while preserving relationships where possible • Investigate debtor profiles through skip tracing and financial background checks to support legal filings • Maintain detailed internal records of all collection efforts, legal actions, and correspondence • Ensure all recovery activities are in full compliance with UAE legal frameworks and Nomod’s internal policies • Proactively suggest improvements to
