Investment Specialist

Job Purpose: • The Investment Specialist is responsible to assist the Section Head for managing review and/or approval for the financial and investment activities of the licensed entities operating within the energy sector. This includes revision of investment proposals, in accordance with the regulations, codes and standards applicable to the licensed entities or new license applicants. • In addition, the Investment Specialist is responsible for managing the review and analysis of investments and capital projects proposed by the licensed entities, undertaking the necessary due diligence. The Investment Analyst is responsible for ensuring that the investments and capital projects proposed by the licensed entities are aligned, do not conflict with one another, and support the achievement of the strategy and goals for the energy sector. The review, approval and monitoring of generation and desalination, District Cooling investments and network investments. Key Responsibilities: • Support the application of appropriate due diligence measures, as well as analyze and approve investment proposals from entities operating in the energy sector, with a focus on alignment with the sector's strategic objectives, ROI, and investment timelines. Examine, approve, and monitor investments in power generation, desalination, and network infrastructure. • Provide the support in overseeing investment proposals and capital project proposals within the energy sector, ensuring alignment across projects to the overarching sector strategy. Examine, approve, and monitor investments in power generation, desalination, and network infrastructure. • Support the evaluation of the financial health and models of the new license applicants to assess their capabilities and proposed levelized tariffs for IWPPs and DC providers. • Support the approval of the appropriate financial frameworks and methodologies for use by the new license applicants. • Evaluate new license applicants' financial models/form
